On June 27, TopTaal, in collaboration with the municipality Amsterdam, a Work Market in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. The goal of the afternoon was to connect job-seeking students with organizations. In conversations with students from TopTaal It often emerges that many people find the Dutch job market challenging. Many participants indicate that they want to work, but that they struggle to find suitable vacancies. The Job Market was intended to bridge this gap and offer participants additional support. Such an event also aligns well with the vision of the Amsterdamse municipality: AmsterdamPeople who cannot participate on their own should receive the help needed to participate as independently as possible in the city. The municipality Amsterdam thus contributed to the implementation of the programme.
The Werkmarkt was an interesting information market, to which 20 different organizations were invited that offer support to non-Dutch speaking people intaald work, work placements, and/or volunteer work. In addition to the information market, there were several workshops for which participants could register, such as: 'Job Application Tips,' 'Learn to Present Yourself,' and an 'Entrepreneurship' workshop. The workshops were well-attended and highly appreciated!
It was a successful afternoon where many students attended TopTaal We've come to expect this. We hope to organize a similar event again next year!
