The corona crisis creates a lot of uncertainty. Contracts of many temporary workers and / or temporary workers are not renewed. Other workers have managed to keep their jobs in the first few months thanks to the support measures, but are unsure whether this will remain the case. There is a chance that some of these employees will also no longer have a job.

Job market

According to Pieter Hasekamp of the Central Planning Bureau (CPB), the situation on the labor market is a lot worse than we see in the official figures. The aid measures are intended to keep as many jobs as possible, yet thousands of people have lost their jobs since the corona crisis. And the people who will later lose their jobs are added to that. Unemployment in the Netherlands has risen considerably as a result of the corona crisis.

People who are out of work due to the crisis and who have insufficient command of the Dutch language can now invest in their future by increasing their language level.
Learning Dutch now provides better job opportunities during and after the corona crisis. A nice side effect is that it gives people a goal: they are busy with their own development and their future.

Continue to develop
