Skills for Employment at Ikea

Since 2021 has TopTaal An intensive collaboration with IKEA through the Skills for Employment program, which IKEA launched. Together with the IKEA Foundation and UNHCR, IKEA is working to change the perception of refugees. They are doing this, among other things, by prioritizing talent and ambition. The Skills for Employment program gives people with refugee backgrounds worldwide the opportunity to gain work experience at IKEA, increasing their chances in the job market.

In the Netherlands, 70 people with a refugee background are given the opportunity each year to work in various IKEA departments through an internship. At the same time, they receive intensive training. taalcourse at TopTaalIn addition, IKEA collaborates with the Refugee Talent Hub and the Dutch Council for Refugees in this program.

A great opportunity to gain work experience and at the same time learn Dutch taalto further improve skills.
