Skills for Employment at Ikea

Since 2021, TopTaal has had an intensive collaboration with IKEA in the Skills for Employment program set up by IKEA. Together with the IKEA Foundation and UNHCR, IKEA is working to change the perception of refugees. They do this, among other things, by putting talent and ambition first. The Skills for Employment program gives people with a refugee background worldwide the opportunity to gain work experience within IKEA to improve their chances on the labor market.

Each year in the Netherlands, 70 people with a refugee background are given the opportunity to work in various IKEA departments through an internship. At the same time, they receive an intensive language course at TopTaal. In addition, IKEA cooperates in this program with Refugee Talent Hub and the Council for Refugees.

A great opportunity to gain work experience and at the same time further improve your Dutch language skills.
